47 Ronin Pushed Back to Christmas 2013. Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano star in the 3D fantasy-adventure 47 Ronin, inspired by ancient Japan’s most enduring tale. Universal Pictures has pushed back the release date of 47 Ronin for the second time. The studio has moved the Carl Rinsch-directed pic from February 8 to December 25, 2013. The movie tells the story of an outcast named Kai (Reeves) who joins Oishi (Sanada), the chief samurai of a clan of 47 Ronin. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous Lord Kira (Asano) and the mysterious lady Mizuki (Rinko Kikuchi) who killed their master.

Plot Details From ancient Japan’s most enduring tale, the epic 3D fantasy-adventure 47 RONIN is born.
