Jane Levy to Star in Evil Dead Remake. Suburgatory star Jane Levy is in talks to play the female lead in the upcoming Evil Dead reboot. Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood) has been cast as the male lead. The horror update is being produced by Sam Raimi, writer and director of the original The Evil Dead movies. Raimi and original producing partners Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell are passing the reins over to director Fede Alvarez. Diablo Cody is currently doing revisions on the latest draft written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues. In this retelling, five friends are holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival. Viola Davis Joins Ender’s Game. Viola Davis has joined the upcoming live-action adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s sci-fi novel Ender’s Game. Davis (The Help) will play a military psychologist who both designs the games that test the young recruits and oversees their mental well-being. Davis joins Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford. Set in Earth’s future, the story follows Ender (Butterfield) a young genius strategist recruited by the government to help battle an insect-like alien race. See More
DC Announces ‘Watchmen’ Prequel Comics

This summer, DC Entertainment will publish all-new stories expanding on the acclaimed Watchmen universe. The seven inter-connected prequel mini-series will build on the foundation of the original Watchmen, the bestselling graphic novel of all time. Before Watchmen will be the collective banner for all seven titles, from DC Comics.
Each week, a new issue will be released, and will feature a two-page back-up story called Curse Of The Crimson Corsair, written by original series editor Len Wein and with art by original series colorist John Higgins. There will also be a single issue, Before Watchmen: Epilogue, featuring the work of various writers and artists, and a Crimson Corsair story by Wein and Higgins. See More

Samantha Barks Joins Les Misérables Movie. British stage actress Samantha Barks has been chosen as Eponine in Universal’s film adaptation of the stage musical Les Misérables. Barks previously played the role in the 2010 London stage production and 25th anniversary concert. Barks joins a star-studded cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried. Magnolia Picks Up 2 Days In New York at Sundance. Magnolia Pictures has acquired North American rights to 2 Days In New York, the follow-up to Julie Delpy’s 2007 indie comedy 2 Days In Paris. Magnolia will release the film through its Video on Demand (VOD) program later this year, with a theatrical release in major markets. Julie Delpy and Chris Rock star in the sequel.
