The Secret Life of the American Teenager star India Eisley is joining the cast of Maleficent, Disney’s live-action retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning. Eisley (Underworld: Awakening) will play a younger version of Angelina Jolie’s villainous character Maleficent in the opening act, which establishes what led her to curse Princess Aurora (Fanning). The story centers on the evil fairy Maleficent, who curses the young Princess Aurora, proclaiming that before the sun sets on her 16th birthday, she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall asleep from which she can only be awakened by true love’s kiss. Rebecca Hall Joins Iron Man 3. The Town star Rebecca Hall is in talks to join the cast of Disney/Marvel’s superhero sequel Iron Man 3, being directed by Shane Black. Hall would play a scientist who helps to create a nanotechnology that winds up being sold to terrorists. The role was originally intended for Jessica Chastain but she dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. The third installment stars Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow with new editions Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Andy Lau. The movie will further build upon the compelling storyline of “genius billionaire playboy philanthropist,” Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), fresh from his team-up with The Avengers along with his love interest Pepper Potts (Paltrow). IFC Films to Release On the Road. AMC Networks has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the Walter Salles-directed drama On the Road. The company will release the film under its distribution labels IFC Films and Sundance Selects this fall. Stallone’s Bullet to the Head Moved to 2013. Where the Wild Things Are Author Maurice Sendak Dies. Maurice Sendak, who wrote and illustrated the 1963 classic children’s picture book Where the Wild Things Are, has died at the age of 83. I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence has officially signed on to direct Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, based on the second in a series of books by Suzanne Collins.

I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence has officially signed on to direct Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, based on the second in a series of books by Suzanne Collins. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth will reprise their roles as Katniss, Peeta and Gale in the post-apocalyptic action-adventure. In the sequel, the aftermath of Hunger Games leaves Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson) with no sense of triumph.
