Focus Features has released the first movie trailer for the real-life drama Dallas Buyers Club, starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto. McConaughey got dangerously skinny for the role. The actor dropped nearly 40 pounds to play Ron Woodroof. Check out the Dallas Buyers Club trailer below.
In the early days of the AIDS epidemic, Texas cowboy Ron Woodroof's free-wheeling life was overturned in 1985 when he was diagnosed as HIV-positive and given 30 days to live.
Shunned and ostracized by many of his old friends, and bereft of government-approved effective medicines, decided to take matters in his own hands, tracking down alternative treatments from all over the world by means and established a hugely successful "buyers' club." Dallas Buyers Club opens in theaters November 1, 2013.
