Terra Nova Co-creator to Script Fifty Shades of Grey. Universal Pictures and Focus Features today announced that Kelly Marcel (Terra Nova, Saving Mr. Banks) will write the screenplay to the film adaptation of E L James’ New York Times bestselling erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Originally published online as Twilight fan fiction, Fifty Shades of Grey has evolved into a literary phenomenon. Set in modern-day Seattle, the story follows college student, Anastasia Steele, who finds herself in a relationship with a 27-year-old billionaire, Christian Grey, involving BDSM.

Synopsis

The story follows the relationship between college student Anastasia Steele and young billionaire Christian Grey. When the couple embark on a passionate and daring relationship, Anastasia learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny. In order to be his partner she agrees to experiment with BDSM, but struggles to reconcile who she is with who Christian wants her to be: his submissive to do with as he pleases.
