New Guardians of the Galaxy Concept Art Revealed. Chris Pratt, Zoë Saldana and Dave Bautista star in Marvel’s live-action comic book adaptation Guardians of the Galaxy, being directed by James Gunn. Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord), the half-alien leader of a team that includes genetically engineered gunslinging Rocket Racoon, a giant fighting tree named Groot, wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista as knife-wielding green warrior Drax the Destroyer, and Zoë Saldana as the assassin Gamora, the last survivor of an otherwise extinct alien race. The story centers on Peter Quill, a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons Rocket Racoon, Groot, Drax The Destroyer and Gamora who have something everyone wants.

SynopsisEven the 31st Century needs heroes, and the call has been answered by the “Guardians of the Galaxy” Star-Lord, Rocket Racoon, Groot, Drax The Destroyer and Gamora – a team of superhuman and extraterrestrial adventurers dedicated to the safeguarding of the Milky Way Galaxy from any force that threatens the security or liberty of its various people. Star-Lord is a half-human, half-alien intergalactic sheriff whose special combat suit protects him in deep space as he draws his twin guns on evildoers. Rocket Racoon is a genetically engineered critter from a planet used as a dumping ground for the insane. He may be small, but he carries a very big gun. Groot is a giant, anthropomorphic tree-being with the ability to control trees and use them to attack others. Drax The Destroyer is an Earthling who was killed and resurrected as a knife-wielding green warrior with super strength. Gamora is the last of her alien species, trained to be an assassin with enhanced speed, strength and agility. |
