Disney has announced the start of production on the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning and Sam Riley. The film is a live-action retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale and reveals the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.
