Man of Steel Receives PG-13 Rating
Warner Bros. has revealed the MPAA rating for Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Superman reboot, Man of Steel. The film received a PG-13 “for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.”
The rating is in keeping with other DC Comics live-action movies including: The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005 – 2012), Green Lantern (2011) and Superman Returns (2006), which received a PG-13 “for some intense action violence.”
Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Russell Crowe star in the superhero action adventure.
In the film, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
Man of Steel is scheduled to arrive in 3D, limited 2D and IMAX theaters on June 14, 2013.
