Plot Details

“Moneyball” is a movie adaptation of Michael Lewis’ book “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.” “Moneyball” centers on the 2002 Oakland A’s (Athletics) baseball team, who were led by general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) to an excellent season despite having the lowest payroll in the major leagues. In addition to scouting and more conventional methods of assembling a team, Beane introduced statistics and computer analysis into player evaluation, to the chagrin of many traditionalists.
