Singer, Actress Whitney Houston Dies at 48. On the eve of music’s biggest night — the Grammy Awards. Whitney Houston, who once ruled the pop music charts, has died at the age of 48. The singer and actress’ cause of death is still unknown. Houston co-stars in Sony’s upcoming musical remake Sparkle with Jordin Sparks, Derek Luke and Mike Epps.
