Plot Details

Sweet Valley High is based on Francine Pascal’s New York Times bestselling young-adult series which debuted in 1983 and became a popular 90s TV series. The story revolves around the lives of teen identical twin sisters with dissimilar personalities — the sensitive and practical Elizabeth and the flighty and boy-crazy Jessica Wakefield — in the fictional town of Sweet Valley, California. Diablo Cody (“Young Adult” and “Juno”) is writing the screenplay and Tony Award winners Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt are composing original music for the big-screen musical version set in the outrageous and colorful 80s. Diablo Cody, Mason Novick, Adam Siegel and Marc Platt are producing the feature film.
