David Fincher No Longer Attached to Direct Cleopatra. Sony Pictures is now seeking a new director to helm its big-screen adaptation of Stacy Schiff’s bestselling book Cleopatra: A Life. Angelina Jolie is attached to star as the Queen of the Nile. David Fincher (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network) was in discussions with Sony to direct but talks fell through. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Engaged

It’s official – after seven years as a couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged. Pitt’s manager confirmed the news to The Associated Press but said that there isn’t a wedding date “at this time.” Jeweler Robert Procop designed the engagement ring for the Oscar-winning actress, in collaboration with Brad Pitt.

The engagement news comes on the heels of reports that the couple may reunite on the big screen in Ridley Scott’s next project The Counselor, with Michael Fassbender and Javier Bardem. Rumors are swirling that Angelina Jolie is in discussions to play the female lead.

Pitt, 48, and Jolie, 36, who met during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, have been together since 2005, and have three adopted children and three biological children. Source: CBS News, Deadline
