Director Christopher Nolan has cast Matthew McConaughey as the male lead in his mysterious sci-fi thriller Interstellar, based on a script by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises).

Christopher Nolan, the director of The Dark Knight Rises, has released a statement about the movie theater shooting at a midnight screening of his film in Aurora, Colorado, calling the massacre an “appalling crime” and saying that his thoughts are with the victims and their families.
“Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community,” Nolan said in a statement. “I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. Director Zack Snyder and producer Christopher Nolan have tapped The Dark Knight Rises composer Hans Zimmer to score Warner Bros. Superman reboot Man of Steel, reports THR. Zimmer worked on all three films in Nolan’s Batman trilogy and this will be his fifth collaboration.
