If you’re confused by the two upcoming movies ‘Avatar’ and ‘The Last Airbender’ or if you think they are related projects, join the crowd.
About a week ago my nephew mentioned to me that he was really excited to see ‘Avatar’ after watching the teaser trailer. What he actually viewed was the teaser for M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘The Last Airbender’. Knowing he is a devoted fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the animated TV series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon, I immediately recognized that he was confused by two completely unrelated films ‘Avatar’ and ‘The Last Airbender’. Ridley Scott attached to ‘Alien’ prequel

Just like a facehugger alien, Ridley Scott is now attached to direct the fifth ‘Alien’ film for Twentieth Century Fox. The sci-fi thriller is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film ‘Alien’ directed by Scott.
In ‘Alien’ the space crew of the commercial ship Nostromo comprised of five men and two women is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules, halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. See More

Avatar to be released in Imax 3-D

Avatar is going big. The live-action 3-D sci-fi adventure from James Cameron will be released simultaneously in Imax 3-D when the film premieres next year in conventional 3-D theaters, Imax Corp. and 20th Century Fox announced Thursday.
Set for a Dec. 18, 2009 release, “Avatar” is Cameron’s sci-fi epic, made in stereoscopic 3-D and combining live-action and computer animation using visionary new techniques. See More
