Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch Confirmed for The Avengers 2. Director Joss Whedon has confirmed that comic book superhero siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will join The Avengers 2 movie line-up. In an interview with IGN, Whedon confirmed the rumor, “You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.” In Marvel’s The Avengers 2, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow assemble to defeat the intergalactic enemy Thanos. Anthony Mackie to Play Falcon in Captain America Sequel

Anthony Mackie may be joining his The Hurt Locker co-star Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Universe. Mackie is in talks to play the Falcon, one of mainstream comics’ first African-American superheroes, in the upcoming sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier, reports THR.

Marvel also has plans to reintroduce the character in an upcoming animated series called Avengers Assemble. Falcon has the ability to see through the eyes of his bird Redwing and fly using a wing harness. See More

Paramount Home Media Distribution has revealed the cover art for the yet to be announced Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol on Blu-ray and DVD. Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg and Michael Nyqvist star in the blockbuster action sequel that grossed $653 million worldwide. Both the Blu-ray and DVD releases are available for Pre-order. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol debuts on Blu-ray and DVD April 17.

Synopsis: Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates “Ghost Protocol”. Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency’s name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know. See More

The cast also includes Michael Nyqvist (Sweden’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as the film’s central villain, French actress Léa Seydoux (Robin Hood, Inglourious Basterds) as the lethal Sabine Moreau, Josh Holloway (ABC’s Lost) as I.M.F. agent Hanaway and Simon Pegg reprises his role as computer hacker Benji, now a full fledged field agent.
