Transformers 4 Adds Li Bingbing. Chinese actress Li Bingbing has joined the cast of Michael Bay’s upcoming fourth installment of the Transformers film franchise. Bingbing (Resident Evil: Retribution) will star along with Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer. Transformers 4 takes place exactly four years after Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The story centers on Wahlberg’s character, his daughter (Peltz) and her race car driver boyfriend (Reynor). Mark Wahlberg Officially Joins Transformers 4, Logo Revealed

Michael Bay has officially cast Mark Wahlberg in Transformers 4 and revealed the films logo.

The Autobots have an all new ally and the Decepticons have another adversary.

Mark Wahlberg will join the war between humans and intergalactic robot aliens in the next installment of the Transformers film franchise.

“Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on Pain and Gain and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,” said Michael Bay.

Bay will direct the next installment in the “Transformers” series, which begins shooting next spring. From Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., in association with Hasbro, the film will be produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.
