The Dark Tower


The first installment in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s dystopian novels The Dark Tower will arrive in theaters on January 13, 2017. Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair) is directing the fantasy action-adventure. In the film, gunslinger Roland Deschain roams an Old West-like landscape in search of a dark tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world.

Plot Summary

“The Dark Tower” is Stephen King’s opus of seven bestselling novels with, to date, more than 30 million copies sold in 40 countries. The novels incorporate themes from multiple genres including fantasy, science fiction, horror and adventure. After the series was completed, a prequel of comic books based on one of the characters was also published. In the film, gunslinger Roland Deschain roams an Old West-like landscape in search of a dark tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world.
