Mark Romanek to Direct The Lost Symbol. Director Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) is the front-runner to direct the third film adaptation of author Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon novels. Ron Howard, who directed the first two installments, ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘Angels & Demons’, will produce ‘The Lost Symbol’ with his Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer. In the film, symbologist Robert Langdon embarks on a nonstop, action-packed race through Washington D.C. on an urgent search for keys to the secrets of freemasonry and the Founding Fathers, in hope of saving his beloved mentor.

Plot Details

When expert symbologist Robert Langdon’s beloved mentor – a prominent Mason and philanthropist – is brutally kidnapped, Langdon realizes his only hope of saving him is to accept a mystical invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon is instantly plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations – all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth.
