Ender’s Game star Hailee Steinfeld has joined the cast of Universal’s musical comedy sequel Pitch Perfect 2. Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow are set to reprise their roles with Elizabeth Banks making her directorial debut.
We can also confirm Kelley Jakle, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee and Ester Dean will also reprise their roles in Pitch Perfect 2.
Plot details have not been revealed. Kay Cannon, who adapted Pitch Perfect, is writing the screenplay for the sequel. The first film centered on a freshman (Kendrick) who reluctantly joins a college a cappella group called the Bellas and leads it to the finals.
17-year-old Steinfeld was only 13 when she was nominated for an Oscar opposite Jeff Bridges in the Coen Brothers’ 2010 True Grit, and also starred in last year’s sic-fi thriller Ender’s Game.
Steinfeld’s upcoming projects include the action comedy Barely Lethal and Universal’s Term Life. She was last seen in Relativity’s 3 Days to Kill and can be seen next in Begin Again with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.
