28 Weeks Later Director to Helm Pet Sematary Remake
28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is in talks to helm Paramount's remake of Stephen King's Pet Sematary, reports Variety. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers films) is producing the remake to the 1989 horror classic along with Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity films). Matt Greenberg and David Kajganich wrote the script. Based on the novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary tells the story of a family that moves into a new home next to a cemetery with powers that allow the creatures buried in it to come back from the dead.
After moving to an idyllic home in the countryside life seems perfect for the Creed family...but not for long. Louis and Rachel Creed and their two young children settle in to a house that sits next door to a pet cemetery - built on an ancient Indian burial ground. Their mysterious new neighbor hides the cemetery's darkest secret...until a family tragedy brings the secret to life. Now an unthinkable evil is about to be resurrected.
