Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio has landed the bad guy role in the fourth installment of Universal's long-awaited sci-fi dinosaur franchise, Jurassic World.

Deadline reports the Escape Plan star is joining a cast that includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan.

Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) is directing the action adventure from a script he co-wrote with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer.

Jurassic Park (1993) centered on a multimillionaire who unveils a new theme park where visitors can observe dinosaurs cloned using advanced DNA technology. The new film is set 22 years after the horrific events of the original.

Jurassic World will be shot in native 3D and is scheduled for release in theaters on June 12, 2015.
