Iron Man 3 has started filming! Here’s your official first look at Robert Downey Jr. back in Tony Stark’s workroom on the set of Iron Man 3. Along with Downey, Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.

Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios release Marvel’s The Avengers, production on the highly anticipated film Iron Man 3, directed by Shane Black, has commenced in Wilmington, North Carolina. The production schedule will also include locations in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; Miami, Florida; and China. Iron Man 3 is set for release on May 3. See More

Rebecca Hall Joins Iron Man 3

Rebecca Hall is in talks to join the cast of Disney/Marvel’s superhero sequel Iron Man 3, being directed by Shane Black.

Hall (The Town, The Prestige) would play a scientist who helps to create nanotechnology that winds up being sold to terrorists. The role was originally intended for Jessica Chastain (The Help, The Tree of Life) but she dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. See More

Andy Lau and Jessica Chastain Join Iron Man 3

Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau is in negotiations to join the cast of Disney/Marvel’s superhero sequel Iron Man 3, being directed by Shane Black. Lau is best known to U.S. audiences for playing Inspector Lau Kin Ming in the Hong Kong crime thriller Infernal Affairs (2002), which inspired Martin Scorsese’s The Departed (2006).

According to the website Neon Punch, Lau’s character will be an old friend of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark that represents China’s technology sector – and will use China’s armored heroes to help Iron Man defeat the central villain The Mandarin. See More

Guy Pearce Joining Iron Man 3

Guy Pearce is in final talks to join the Shane Black directed Iron Man 3 for Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Pearce (Lockout) will play geneticist Aldrich Killian. In the comics, Killian co-creates an “Extremis” super-soldier serum that Iron Man adopts.

Pearce will join returning cast members Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and new edition Ben Kingsley as the villain. Kingsley’s character is said to be involved in the spread of a virus through the “Extremis” nanotechnology. See More
