Tom Hanks is ready to return to the world of religious conspiracy theories in director Ron Howard's thriller Inferno.

Based on Dan Brown's "Robert Langdon" book series, Inferno is set to begin filming next April in Italy.

The film is an adaptation of Brown's fourth book following Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol, which has not been adapted for the big-screen.

Tom Hanks will reprises his role as Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of religious iconology and symbology. This time, Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history's most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces… Dante's Inferno. Source: Deadline
