Director Bryan Singer has added Tye Sheridan (Joe), Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B) to the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse.
The trio will play younger versions of their characters. Sheridan has landed the role of Cyclops, a mutant who projects optic blasts from his eyes; Turner will play the telepath Jean Grey; and Shipp is Storm, whose powers include the ability to control the weather.
They join previously announced addition Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year) as the ancient mutant supervillain Apocalypse, also know as En Sabah Nur. The character made his first full appearance in the July 1, 1986 issue of X-Factor #6.
‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will focus on the young cast featuring Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence).
