Eric Roth to Write Cleopatra, Starring Angelina Jolie. Screenwriter Eric Roth is in talks to draft ‘Cleopatra’, an adaptation of Stacy Schiff’s bestselling book ‘Cleopatra: A Life’, for Sony Pictures. Roth most recently adapted the post-911 drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Angelina Jolie is attached to star as the Queen of the Nile with David Fincher (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network) in early talks to direct. Cleopatra (Jolie) ruled as the last Pharaoh of Egypt for twenty-two years and had a love affair with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony which resulted in a deadly conflict between Rome and Egypt. See More

Ridley Scott attached to ‘Alien’ prequel

Just like a facehugger alien, Ridley Scott is now attached to direct the fifth ‘Alien’ film for Twentieth Century Fox. The sci-fi thriller is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film ‘Alien’ directed by Scott.
In ‘Alien’ the space crew of the commercial ship Nostromo comprised of five men and two women is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules, halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. See More
