Top Gun Director Tony Scott Dead at 68

Film director and long-time Denzel Washington collaborator Tony Scott died Sunday at the age of 68 in an apparent suicide. The British-born Scott, who lived in Beverly Hills, was the younger brother of legendary Alien and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott.
Tony Scott’s body was found after an apparent jump from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro. A dive team with Los Angeles Port Police pulled the body from the murky water several hours later, according to Los Angeles police. Scott’s body was taken to a dock in Wilmington and turned over to the county coroner’s office. See More
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Engaged

It’s official – after seven years as a couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged. Pitt’s manager confirmed the news to The Associated Press but said that there isn’t a wedding date “at this time.” Jeweler Robert Procop designed the engagement ring for the Oscar-winning actress, in collaboration with Brad Pitt.
The engagement news comes on the heels of reports that the couple may reunite on the big screen in Ridley Scott’s next project The Counselor, with Michael Fassbender and Javier Bardem. Rumors are swirling that Angelina Jolie is in discussions to play the female lead.
Pitt, 48, and Jolie, 36, who met during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, have been together since 2005, and have three adopted children and three biological children. Source: CBS News, Deadline

Ridley Scott is set to direct and produce a follow-up to his cult classic science fiction film ‘Blade Runner’ for Alcon Entertainment with distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. It’s unknown if the new movie will be based on author K.W. Jeter’s 1995 book “Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human” that picks up the story of Rick Deckard, the “blade runner” created by Phillip K. Dick’s 1968 novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”. See More

Ridley Scott attached to ‘Alien’ prequel

Just like a facehugger alien, Ridley Scott is now attached to direct the fifth ‘Alien’ film for Twentieth Century Fox. The sci-fi thriller is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film ‘Alien’ directed by Scott.
In ‘Alien’ the space crew of the commercial ship Nostromo comprised of five men and two women is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules, halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. See More
