Johnny Depp Is Dr. Seuss, Dredd Director Exits, Sony Plans Steve Jobs Movie
Johnny Depp Developing Dr. Seuss. Johnny Depp fans may want him to play Marvel character Doctor Strange but the actor wants to play Dr. Seuss. Depp will star and produce a live action feature inspired by the life of the classic children’s book author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss. Geisel published 46 children’s books, which were often characterized by imaginative characters and rhymes. His most celebrated books include the bestselling Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Horton Hears a Who! and The Lorax.
Dredd Director Gets Judged. Director Pete Travis has exited Dredd, Reliance Entertainment’s Judge Dredd reboot, due to creative differences with the film’s producers. Now in the post production phase, screenwriter Alex Garland has reportedly taken over editing duties. Karl Urban stars as the title character, an officer of the law who patrols the crime-ridden Mega-City One with the power to act as judge, jury, and executioner. This will be the second big-screen incarnation of the hero — the first being Sylvester Stallone’s 1995 outing.
